RE: Base for satellite dish

The most creative one I've seen was an oil drain pan that holds the oil. The adjustment arm was mounted to the top of the pan. The pan is filled with water once on site which held it pretty solid. I haven't gotten around to doing this, but it makes sense to me.

I wouldn't be happy with this repair either. Good luck with getting a resolution.

RE: 6 Gallon water heater, Never again

For the last 8 years a 6 gallon is all I've ever had. I have to say that we respect it for what it is and use less water. I personally can take a full shower without turning the water completely off without running out of hot water. You may want to check the temp the heater is heating to or use less volume when showering.

2008 Jay Feather 30U Stability?

We took our first trip in our new TT and are very pleased with almost everything. One consern I have is after getting set up I was surprised at the amount of movement there was after being level and the stability jacks down. I'm courious has anyone added stability jacks near the axles? The factory stabilizers are installed at the two ends of the unit. I was also looking at a rod that connects to existing stabilizers, anyone used this? I'm sure I'm spoiled going from an Eagle with heavy frame to this light series, but I have to believe it can be better, I just need the right combination.

What wax to use?

I'm sure this has been covered here but I will ask anyway. What wax is everyone using? I recently picked up my new Jay Feather 30U and will need to get it waxed soon. I was leaning on NuFinish liquid or paste carnuba wax.

Reece SC 66155?

My dealer is offering me a Reece SC hitch kit, reese number 66155. They say it is new from Reese and so new it isn't on their web site. I wanted the HP Dual Cam set up and it still is an option. Does anyone have any information on this new Reece product?

RE: Your fuel economy pulling a Sprinter 311BHS or = 36' TT?

I agree, go have fun and not worry about it. I have never checked fuel mileage towing anything. I just figure it's BAD, and the price I'm willing to pay to enjoy the time with my family.

RE: Starting to look at a New TT

I signed a deal Saturday for a new Jay Feather 30u. It was my 3rd visit with the dealer. Show time is always a good time to shop. There are manufacturer inscentives, financing inscentives, and dealers needing income. Hagle, hagle, hagle, and you can save thousands. When you think they are done, push for more. When they don't give thank them for their time and go home. It's January and time is on your side. I walked out Tuesday on my salesman, my family was upset thinking I wouldn't order the one we wanted. We were home an hour and the phone rang offering $100.00 gift certificate, not much, but something. When you think you have your best deal, shop the same unit with other dealers. Tell them you are shopping a deal and give them the numbers. You will find out if you have a good deal going or not. Saturday I thanked my salesman, he said I made it hard on him. I replied that I was doing my job as a purchaser. I know someone will walk out buying the same unit as I paying 4k more than me. Have fun, but don't let emotion get in the way of saving money.

What Cover to buy?

I have ordered new TT, 2008 Jay Feather Lgt 30u and want to protect my investment. I will be purchasing a cover for it, but which cover do I buy? SFS AquaShed and Tyvek are two types listed on CW. I figure I will get some good advise here to assist in my decision.

Pushing 2002 f150 supercrew to 8000#?

I'm considering swapping my 1997 Jayco Eagle 304BH 5600 dry for a 2009 Surveyor SV-304 6500 dry. TV is a 2002 Ford F150 Supercrew 5.4 with 3.55. I've not had the Jayco on the scale, but I've had the two loaded down a few times. Looking for others whom may offer input on pushing the TV to 8000#.
